The Cave by Elizabeth Chatsworth, 1959, HB with DJ, 63 pp. Jim-Boy-Who-Loves Sheep, a young Navajo, would have been happy in the spring, but a sense of foreboding hangs over him. He is hired to accompany a young Basque boy, Fernando, to move the sheep to summer pastures, but Fernando treats him like an enemy. The story of how the young Indian boy wins Fernando"s friendship and overcomes his own fears makes a hauntingly lovely legend.
